A concept-oriented approach to introductory computer science

Abstract: A framework on which a concept-oriented introductory computer science course can be based is presented and our experience in offering such a course to a special group of high school students is described. It is suggested that introductory college-level courses should be based on this or a similar framework and our reasons for this suggestion are given.
