A Computer-based Diagnostic/Patient Management System for Isolated Environments

Abstract: Four studies were conducted to examine the data collection procedures and diagnostic accuracy of Navy Hospital Corpsmen for patients “with acute abdominal pain and to determine the compatibility of their skills with the requirements of a computer-aided diagnostic system for abdominal pain. Findings suggest that instruction in specific data collection procedures results in an increase in the amount of data collected.
