A Comprehensive Review on the Effect of Sugarcane Trash Ash on the Sorption, Degradation and Leaching of Atrazine and Fipronil in Agricultural Soils

Abstract: Burning of surplus sugarcane trash for land clearing is a common practice followed by the farmers. The ashes generated from sugarcane trash burning will results in change in the physico-chemical properties of soils due to their alkaline nature. Ashes, due to presence of unburnt carbon, have exhibited potential to adsorb pesticides; therefore, might affect degradation, leaching and sorption of pesticides.
