A comprehensive review of cerebral oximetry in cardiac surgery

Abstract: Background Patients who undergo cardiac surgery are at increased risk of stroke, postoperative cognitive decline, and delirium. These neurocognitive complications have led to increased costs, intensive care unit stays, morbidity, and mortality.
