A Comprehensive Modeling of the Discrete and Dynamic Problem of Berth Allocation in Maritime Terminals

Abstract: In this study, the discrete and dynamic problem of berth allocation in maritime terminals, is investigated. The suggested resolution method relies on a paradigm of optimization with two techniques: heuristic and multi-agent. Indeed, a set of techniques such as the protocol of negotiation named contract net, the multi-agent interactions, and Worst-Fit arrangement technique, are involved. The main objective of the study is to propose a solution for attributing m parallel machines to a set of activities. The cont… Show more

“…Maximizing the operating efficiency of the harbor is the top priority target for harbor management. Prior to optimizing the operation of the harbor, the BAP and quay crane scheduling problem (QCSP) should be addressed [1]. This type of research has attracted the attention of the industry since the end of the last century.…”

“…One of main approaches that has been successfully employed in various application is the multi-agent systems (MASs). Many applications have been reported for MASs, such as intrusion detection, energy management problems, economic problems, medical problems, among many others [1][2][3]. One of the challenging topics in the field of MASs is the designing of effective control systems.…”
