Virtual synchronous generator (VSG) has similar external characteristics to traditional synchronous generator, which helps to overcome the phenomenon of inertia attenuation when the power is connected to the grid, but also has the phenomenon of large interference voltage and impulse current at the moment of grid connection. To solve this problem, a synchro model is constructed for the first time. According to the theory of phase-locked loop vector, An optimized pre-synchronization control strategy ignoring Phase Locked Loop is provided to simplify the pre-synchronization control process, reduce the instantaneous impact flow of grid-connected, thus reducing the change of grid-connected time, and achieve a smooth transition from off-grid to grid-connected state. Finally, an improved VSG control module is built in MATLAB/Simulink, and the simulation results prove the correctness and effectiveness of the improved control method.
