A Comprehensive Application To Assist in Acid–Base Titration Self-Learning: An Approach for High School and Undergraduate Students

Abstract: Currently, there are a number of educational applications that allow students to reinforce theoretical or numerical concepts through an interactive way. More precisely, in the field of the analytical chemistry, MATLAB has been widely used to write easy-to-implement code, facilitating complex performances and/or tedious calculations. The main objective of this research is to present an ad hoc open MATLAB code toolbox, named AChemTitri, aimed to construct acid−base titration curves in an interactive format. The … Show more

“…Yet, the core pedagogy behind the teaching and learning in (science) education has not strongly transformed. In the digital age, while dynamic learning environments are quite engaging, their integration into the classroom is still quite challenging for many teachers [4,5]. In the context of the digital era, computer-aided learning (CAL) systems are considered to be a form of instructional channel for (science) education.…”

“…professors' independence help, arrangement, warmth and actual teaching utilization (Patall, Vasquez, Steingut, Trimble, & Pituch, 2017;Reeve, 2013;Skinner & Belmont, 1993). Thus, agentic engagement proposed has been students' constructive and proactive tries to affirm their intervention and impact of instruction flow (González-Gómez, Airado Rodríguez, Cañada-Cañada, & Jeong, 2015;Reeve, Nix, & Hamm, 2003;Reeve & Tseng, 2011). It is remarkable as a chance to ISSN 1648-3898 /Print/ ISSN 2538-7138 /Online/ heightening various classroom activities and key developmental tasks of students' learning in science course (Eccles et al, 1993;Reeve, 2013).…”

“…In the context of students' perception, different researchers agreed that students have a positive perception towards the flipped-classroom model in distinctive educational levels and situations. Specifically, a 2015 study with 142 students in two different classes shows that students favored the flipped-classroom model [17][18][19]. Butt and Smith [20,21] indicate that students in STEM courses not only preferred using the flipped-classroom methodology, but also a majority of students specified that the teaching instruments used in the flipped-classroom model were valuable as a learning tool [20,21].…”
