“…However, Sampson and Vincent [19] have shown that interaction in the housing and gas components has an influence on the response function that cannot be neglected. For a beam along the central axis they get the intrinsic efficiency ε(£) = 0.592 + 1.744E" 1/2 (15) where the energy is given in eV.…”

“…Above 50 MeV the cross-section fluctuates around 40 mb. Data up to 2.47 GeV have been collected by del Guerra [15]. According to classic theory with a constant angular differential centre-of-mass cross-section we have σ,(0) dß = 4<x s (£)cos(0)^…”

“…The neutron detection efficiency was calculated using a Monte Carlo code [9] which takes into account all the nuclear reactions on the proton and carbon of the NE213 scintillators by the neutron coming from the deuteron photo-disintegration [10][11][12][13], and also experimental effects produced by the electronic chain, associated with each detectors, and the effect of the threshold used. A comparison between the experimental ADC spectra and the simulated one is shown in figure 3a), from this figure is derived the neutron detection efficiency which is quite constant as function of the neutron energy, as illustrated in figure 3b).…”
