Background: To increase the accountability of hospitals and ensure that patients receive appropriate treatment at any time of the day, resident physicians perform the necessary diagnostic and therapeutic procedures during non-office hours. This study aimed to analyze the resident physician program from theory to practice. Methods: The present study was a qualitative one. The participants included 27 experts selected from university and hospital managers as well as specialist doctors. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews based on purposive and snowball sampling and the process of data collection continued until data saturation. Then, the interviews were transcribed, meaning units were determined, data were coded, the identified codes were categorized based on similarities and differences, and the themes were identified and finally analyzed and interpreted using the content analysis method. Results: In the present study, 4 main themes, 11 subthemes, and 46 components were identified using framework analysis. The themes related to the goals and outcomes of the program, the accountability of the centers, and the indicators had the same results in theory and practice, and this program improved them. However, regarding financing, monitoring, and implementing the program, as well as payments, there was a wide gap between theory and practice. Conclusion: Considering the opportunities, threats, strengths, and weaknesses of the resident physician program, the results of this study can propose a comprehensive model based on the perception of health managers and experts involved in the implementation of the program. Therefore, it is suggested to consider local conditions and patterns in prioritizing the criteria for fields of study.

Since high-performance work practices (HPWPs) are thought to have an effect on organizational excellence, experts argued on the unique process through which HPWS influence leads to organizational excellence. The aim of this study to examined the relationship between high-performance work practices and achieving organizational excellence. This study collected the data from 155 senior managers across 15 different enterprises operating within the engineering, electronics, and information technology (EEIT) sectors. The result of Multiple Regression Analysis revealed that reward, employee participation and empowerment, learning and development, and performance appraisal have significance and positive effect on organizational excellence in EEIT sectors. The research underlines the need of a long-term plan for reaching the organization's aim of sustainable excellence.

The assessment of healthcare facility quality using business excellence models provides valuable information about performance gaps, which can be used to improve performance. Within the excellence framework, the “result” domain presents more challenges in terms of improvement over time. Using European and American business excellence-based models (EFQM and Balridge, respectively), this review aims to highlight the impact of quality assessment on the improvement of healthcare performance results. A literature search was performed using PubMed, SCOPUS, and CINAHL databases. PRISMA guidelines were followed. All the articles were evaluated using the Critical Appraisal Skills Programme (CASP) Tool. Thematic analysis was conducted following Thomas and Harden's approach, and confidence levels were determined using the GRADE-CERQual method. Nine studies were included. Two main themes emerged: 1) the assessment highlighted improvement in some results; and 2) the assessment highlighted areas that need improvement. The assessments focused mostly on customer-based results and least on society-based results. Six out of nine included studies did not show improvement in the desired results after a one-time assessment; however, no recommendations to improve quality were given to the facility after the assessments. Unless there is continuity in the assessment process, the desired results may not improve.
