“…1, the group average of the 500 Hz thresholds was at least 5 dB worse than that of the 1,000 Hz thresholds. Hodgetts, et al [16] explained this as inherent low frequency noise of the BAHA because the inherent noise masks the aided thresholds at 250 and 500 Hz. This was also supported by Pfiffner, et al [17] in that physical characteristics of the sound processor provided a maximal output force at approximately 1 kHz.…”

“…The transducer developed for the BCI system is called the BCI transducer and uses a BEST as described by Håkansson [8]. Finally, the fitting procedures of the frequency response to compensate the patients' hearing loss will most likely also be improved in the future as discussed by Hodgetts et al [12,13]. As stated by Hodgetts, more detailed information about the patients' hearing on the implant is required.…”

“…Because of the inductive characteristic of the electrical input impedance, the HF range will have a roll-off by almost 20 dB per decade. However, it has also been pointed out that, from a clinical point of view, all present Baha should benefit from higher sensitivity and maximum power output (MPO) at higher frequencies [12,13]. Therefore, the attachment of the BEST transducer to the casing in the BCI has been designed to improve the sensitivity and the MPO at higher frequencies.…”

“…The sound processor needs to be fitted on the individual frequency-specific hearing loss. Therefore, the aided pure-tone audiogram serves as a control of the fitting [1720]. …”
