“…[30][31][32] In particular, we have observed that the largest absolute values of the quadrupole interaction are found for the 8j 2 and 4e sites, which is consistent with the very asymmetric electronic environment of these sites. 30 As shown in Table III all the hyperfine parameters ͑B hf , ␦, and eQV zz /2͒ slightly decrease when increasing the Ho content.…”

“…4, have been fitted with six sextets corresponding to the six crystallographic nonequivalent Fe sites of the R 2 Fe 14 B structure. [30][31][32][33] In all cases a small amount of magnetic ␣-Fe has been included in the fit. Because its amount ͑Ͻ3%͒ is known from the previous x-ray diffraction ͑XRD͒ analysis and the hyperfine parameters are known from the literature, 34 they have been included in the fit with no modification of the number of adjustable parameters.…”

“…For the fitting procedure a typical 2:14:1 model was initially applied [19] while two sextets for the minor phases indicated by the Rietveld analysis (a-Fe, Fe 2 B) were also added. In the case of Fe 2 B, normally two sextets are needed, however the small percentage of the phase and the small difference in the hyperfine parameters of a-Fe and the two Fe 2 B sextets makes them indistinguishable in the specific spectra.…”

“…These results are concurring with the increasing Curie temperature with Gd. Mössbauer studies on R 2 Fe 14 B compounds reveal that the average Fe hyperfine field increases as R varies from La to Gd and decreases for rare-earth heavier than Gd [10]. Further the substitution of Gd for Y increases the strength of Gd-Fe exchange interactions and also enhances the strength of the Fe-Fe interactions by increasing the Fe-Fe interatomic distance through lattice expansion [11].…”
