A Comparison Of Single And Multiple Jets In Terms Of Aeration Efficiency

Abstract: Water treatment is required to meet the needs of an ever-increasing population. A variety of aeration strategies can be used to aerobically maintain liquid waste by supplying an adequate supply of oxygen to microorganisms present in the organic content of wastewater. In this investigation, seven different screens with single and multiple holes totaling 30.75 cm2 were used. The screens were designed to accommodate a variety of jet counts. The influence of variables such as the number of jets, discharge, and fro… Show more

“…E 20 was significantly affected by the Fr and the ratio of the water cross-sectional airflow to the duct cross-sectional 64 . Another piece of literature by Puri et al 65 demonstrates that an increase in discharge and oxygen transfer has accompanied a rise in Fr . The outcomes of the present study also confirm that E 20 and Fr are directly related.…”

“…Research studies pertaining to oxygen transfer through conventional circular plunging jets have been extensively documented in the literature. Numerous research have been done on the subject, including those by Ahmed [9],Van de Sande [10], Bin and Smith [11], Tojo and Miyanami [12], Tojo and Miyanami [13], Bonsignore et al [14], and Puri et al [15]. However, there is a dearth of research on the oxygenation performance of plunging jets with non-circular geometries.…”

“…Experimental studies were thoroughly examined and summarized in a detailed review by Bin and Smith . Various experiments have been conducted on the oxygen transfer achieved through plunging water jets. It is clear that there is considerable interest in the topic of air–water–oxygen transfer through the employment of plunging jets, and as such, it is a topic that continues to get a lot of interest from academics in the field.…”
