A comparative study of pectic polysaccharides from fresh and driedDendrobium officinalebased on their structural properties and hepatoprotection in alcoholic liver damaged mice

Abstract: Two novel pectic polysaccharides (FDP and DDP) from fresh/dried Dendrobium officinale prevent alcohol-induced liver injury by attenuating oxidant stress and inflammatory cytokine response. “Fresh” pectin exhibits more promising hepatoprotection.
