A comparative study of JPEG and residual VQ compression of radar imagery

Abstract: A bstract-The Joint Photographic Expert Group (JPEG) compression standard and a type of vector quantization called residual vector quantization (RVQ) are evaluated for the real-time compression of Precision Approach Radar (PAR) video data.
