120Como resultados más relevantes, más de 75 % de los universitarios leen en su tiempo libre y para ello emplean algo menos de dos horas semanales a la lectura; dos tercios de ellos acuden a las bibliotecas; se sigue prefiriendo la lectura en papel; leen más las mujeres que los hombres, y los alumnos de Posgrado que los de Grado; los de Humanidades más que los de Ciencias, y dentro de la ficción los géneros literarios de misterio y aventuras son los más demandados. Statistical approximations AbstractIn the context of a survey about reading habits in Extremadura conducted bay our research group to 9 212 students of all educational levels during 2017, this paper analyzes the data obtained by the students from the University of Extremadura. After giving details about the method and the field of study of the survey, variables have been examined and the results have been disaggregated according to gender, study area and the Degree/Post graduate distinction. The more relevant results are that 75 % of the university students, read in their free time; they spend less than two hours a week reading; two thirds go to libraries, more to study than for loans or to consult books; reading on paper is still preferred; women read more than men; postgraduate students read more than those still studying their degree; Humanities students read more than Science students, and that within fiction, mystery and adventure genres are the most demanded.

The primary purpose of this paper is to determine the model of higher education financing that is the most effective, flexible and easiest to adapt to the market demands. The most successful HEIs of the world have the best practices for attracting and managing additional funds to finance the educational and research activities of the HEIs. The objective of the article is to summarize the existing progressive practices of attracting and managing additional funds to finance HEIs’ activities. The object of the study is the framework for the formation of endowment funds to support the activities of HEIs. Using comparative and system analysis methods, we looked at the most common models of funding for higher education and the mechanisms for attracting additional funds. It was discovered that most countries use three main models of financing higher education – bureaucratic, collegial and market models. Based on the experience of the OECD countries we determined that at the moment the share of private funds varies but tends to increase. The most successful HEIs use the market model to manage their finances and use additional sources of funds to supplement government support. The most wide-spread instruments of attraction additional funding are issuance of bonds, private equity and donations. The most effective ways to manage additional financing are asset management, securitization and endowment funds. Based on the best practices of the HEIs we proposed a general model of managing the endowment funds that uses such principles and provisions that can be applied in the activities of the HEIs, which will allow them to use fundamentally new source of financing.

The article is focused on the need for a systematic approach to the harmonization of Ukrainian and the EU standards and the proposal to develop standards for training specialists in the relevant field in compliance with the standards on the level of qualifications and working conditions of teachers. The conflict between human rights for spiritual and physical development and the lack of opportunities for respecting these rights has been identified. It is proposed to resolve the specified conflict by introducing financial support for entrants. The starting positions of the formation of financial and economic models for providing/obtaining educational services have been outlined. The bases for the implementation of these models are: the strategy of innovative education development; the infrastructure for providing information support for decision-making; as well as the system of criteria for determining the appropriateness of the model selection. Regarding the feasibility of introducing financial and economic models for providing/obtaining educational services in Ukraine, what has been discussed, among others are: public, business, credit, self- and combined financing. The criteria for the selection expediency and the application of each model are justified.
