Figure 7 shows the microphotograph of fabricated RF frontend chip. The size of implemented RF front-end chip is 1.0 Â 0.75 mm 2 excluding chip pads. Finally, Table 1 summarizes the measured performance of the dual-band RF front end.
CONCLUSIONSIn this work, a dual-band RF front-end IC for direct conversion DVH-H receiver is implemented using 0.18-lm RF CMOS technology. To meet the low-noise and the stringent linearity require-ment, the passive mixer is used, and the bias and transistor size of the LO stage are optimized. The measured NF is less than 4.8 dB and IIP3 at LNA off state is more than 3.5 dBm at UHF band, which is applicable to the DVB-H RF front-end blocks.
