A compact diplexer with a split-ring resonator junction

Abstract: Diplexers are three-port filtering devices with a junction connecting two channel filters; the common port connects to an antenna which serves the two channel filters bearing the second and the third port. In the design of diplexers, the technique used in connecting the two channel filters is of great importance to the designers. This is because it determines the size, the effectiveness of signal splitting and combining as well as the ease in implementation. In this article, an asynchronously tuned double spli… Show more

“…With the help of a slot coupling technique, it has contributed in designing a highly compact dual‐band filtering antenna where the resonator and the antenna were coupled back to back 5 also in designing of duplexing antenna using slot coupling 6,7 . In diplexers, it has been used as a frequency distributor to service two channel filters leading to improved frequency response and miniaturization 8‐13 . Using the dual mode resonators as a distributor in diplexer designs has been popular over the years as it also contributes to the filtering poles of the individual channels.…”

“…Recently, WEH by using a passive device called rectifying antenna (rectenna) is a possible solution to change the environmental wireless energy to a usable DC power efficiently (Arrawatia et al., 2016; Awais et al., 2017; Fakharian, 2020; Hu et al., 2019; Ogbodo et al., 2017; Shi et al., 2018). The rectenna is typically a composition of a rectifier and an antenna in which the antenna receives the ambient wireless power, and the rectifier converts it into DC power.…”

“…The variation of power density (μW/cm 2 ) in different bands depends on the time and frequency. The wireless energy harvesting by using a passive device called rectifying antenna (rectenna) is a possible solution to change the environmental wireless energy to a usable DC power efficiently [17][18][19][20][21]. However, in most cases, the DC power is insufficient to supply an independent task.…”
