“…We observed owls laying eggs directly into depressions in the witch's brooms without any apparent structure, as well as in crushed nestlike structures that could have been old raven nests. We located nests using a combination of methods from Shook (2002) and Rohner and Doyle (1992). We used call surveys to locate Great Horned Owls in January and February, before owls initiated nesting (Ronher and Doyle 1992;Reynolds et al 2021).…”
