Abstract:Acoustic interactions within a sonar array are known to affect the array performance as well as the life expectancy of the transducers themselves. The ability to predict array performance is required for large close-packed arrays of acoustic transducers. In these cases, traditional full finite element or coupled finite element-boundary element methods prove costly. The general approach is to combine a single transducer finite element model with an analytic description of the surrounding fluid and neighboring t… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
