A Collaborative Code Dissemination Schemes Through Two-Way Vehicle to Everything (V2X) Communications for Urban Computing

Abstract: Urban computing creates novel solutions for smart city systems by integrating with ubiquitous sensing, cooperative communication, and data/code collection or dissemination technologies. In this paper, a collaborative code dissemination (CCD) approach with two-way vehicle to everything (V2X) paradigm is proposed by using vehicles act as code mules to disseminate code with fast and low cost style for urban Computing. The main innovation of the CCD-V2X scheme, which is different from the previous code disseminati… Show more

“…Recently, due to rapid development of mobile vehicles in the Internet of Things (IoT), [1][2][3][4] future transport services can facilitate with maintenance of fundamental infrastructures. With rapid growth of generated data, [5][6][7] infrastructures with sensor devices have been expended to everywhere in the smart Internet of Things networks (SIoTs). The infrastructures can sense surrounding information and send it to data center (DC).…”

“…The authors discussed a new 5G-V2X architecture using Side Link over PC5 as a substitute to DSRC for V2V communication. In [21], the authors propose a collaborative code dissemination (CCD) approach based on three cooperative communication methods such as roadside smart devices (RSDs) to vehicle (R2V), V2V and R2V combined V2V (R2V-V2V) communications. Nevertheless, fewer works in the literature discuss the latency requirements for deploying V2X services.…”

“…Additionally, many government agencies and academia research centers in the United States and several European and Asian countries [1] have been working on infrastructure-to-vehicle (I2V)/road-to-vehicle (R2V) communications through investment in research, along with improvements in laws and regulations to promote the development of intelligent transportation infrastructure (ITS). Some of these systems are already used for the design and simulation of intelligent traffic at real intersections [15][16][17], as well as the implementation of Roadside Smart Devices (RSDs), which are composed of a large number of sensing devices in the road with short-range wireless communication for monitoring the physical phenomena happening in the road structure, as well as communicating with the vehicles [18][19][20]. Additional examples also include a hybrid between the visible light communication (VLC) and radio frequency (RF) systems [21][22][23][24], to offer longer distance transmissions and improved I2V.…”
