Abstract:The current mobile Cloud computing trend has set the focus on the ubiquity of computation. However, the current architecture confines the cloud to datacenters, which are generally far from the user. Distance leads to increased utilization of the broadband Wide Area Network -WAN -and poor user experience, especially for interactive applications. Decentralized architectures are emerging as an alternative, but they still fail to adapt to situations where files are concurrently modified. A semi-decentralized approach which confines local traffic close to the user while still maintaining centralized characteristics, running on the users and network devices, can provide a better Quality of Experience (QoE) in large urban populations in mobile cloud networks. In this report, we propose a novel semi-centralized cloud architecture based on microclouds. Microclouds are dynamically created and allow users to contribute resources from their computers, mobile and network devices to the cloud. We present the process for building and reconfiguring the microclouds, whilst guaranteeing a high QoE to users of real-time applications. We also provide a description of a realistic mobile cloud use-case. Results from a simulation-based evaluation indicate that the microclouds architecture is able to sustain hundreds of mobile devices and provide a latency significantly lower than regular Clouds based on datacenters. Résumé : La tendance actuelle des applications mobiles dans les nuages informatiques (clouds) a mis láccent sur lómniprésence du calcul. Cependant, lárchitecture actuelle confine le cloud dans les centres de données qui sont généralement loin de lútilisateur. Cette distance conduit á une utilisation accrue de la bande passante des réseaux longue distance (Wide Area Network -WAN) et conduit á une expérience utilisateur médiocre, en particulier pour les applications interactives. Les architectures décentralisées apparaissent comme une alternative, mais elles ne parviennent pas toujours á s'adapter á des situations oú les fichiers sont modifiés de maniére concurrente. Une approche semi-décentralisée, mise en oeuvre sur les équipements des utilisateurs et du réseau et confinant le trafic local á proximité de lútilisateur tout en conservant les caractéristiques centralisées, peut fournir une meilleure qualité déxpérience (QoE) aux grandes populations urbaines utilisant les applications mobiles des clouds. Dans cet rapport, nous proposons une nouvelle architecture de cloud semi-centralisée fondée sur les "microclouds". Les microclouds sont créés dynamiquement et permettent aux utilisateurs de fournir au cloud des ressources de leurs ordinateurs, smartphones et équipements réseau. Cloud Computing has gained popularity in both research and industrial communities. Cloud users can acquire computing resources on a need basis, achieving on demand scalability; Cloud providers can maximize resource utilizations of datacenters, increasing their return on investments. While Cloud systems are usually hosted in large datacenters and are centrally managed, other types of Cloud architectures can be imagined. In this paper we describe the design and prototype implementation of a fully decentralized, P2P Cloud. A P2P Cloud allows organizations or even individual to build a computing infrastructure out of existing resources, which can be easily allocated among different tasks. We focus on the problem of maintaining a coherent structure over a set of unreliable computing resources. We show that gossip-based protocols can be used to maintain an overlay network on top of the computing nodes, and to partition the set of resources into multiple slices in such a way that the failure of individual nodes do not compromise the overall structure. Resource partitioning is one of the most important features of a Cloud, and therefore must be supported efficiently and reliably on any Cloud architecture. We describe a prototype Java implementation that is being developed to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed approach.

Cloud Computing presents a distinct way to share distributed resources and services with the help of internet. Cloud computing includes sharing of distributed resources via internet-an open network, therefore security becomes an essential issue. A secure data transmission and key management is needed in cloud computing, to overcome such problems. Securing information is the key issue in the field of network security. Cryptography is one of the most effective way to enhance information security. Biometric cryptography is a technique which uses biometric features to encrypt the data and overcome the defects of traditional cryptography. In this paper, a biometric based encryption and decryption scheme, in which a master key is generated using whole/partial hash portion of combined sender and receiver finger print. From this master key many random keys are generated using pseudo random generator which is used as a secret key for both encryption and decryption. The pseudo random number generator may have different algorithm to generate one dimensional number from a piece of image matrix of biometry. This one dimensional number is considered as master key and remains valid for one session unless renewed. This master key and sequence number (seed value, other parameter) is sent by the sender after watermarking it in sender's fingerprint along with encrypted message. Proposed system has an advantage that no need to search public key database and security is maintained. The computational requirement and network security features are duly addressed in this paper to make a normal cloud computing platform to trusted cloud computing platform and assured a secure data transmission.
