Application of conventional analytic and modem numerical methods in prediction of non linear flux linkages in switched reluctance motors by evaluation of magnetic energy density expressions.The very detailed discussion of the proposed analytical and numerical calculation methods for the magnetic flux linkages and the stored magnetic field energy of switched reluctance machines imposes that both approaches are suitable to deliver results with good agreement to practical measurements. Thereby, the application of numerical analysis methods within the construction process leads to results more accurate. Unfortunately, the used numerical approaches are very complex. However, if we have to take into account a number of necessary changes of the geometric dimensions within the design process of switched reluctance machines it is more favorable to take use of the very flexible analytical methods.
