A Chrysanthemum Heat Shock Protein Confers Tolerance to Abiotic Stress

Abstract: Heat shock proteins are associated with protection against various abiotic stresses. Here, the isolation of a chrysanthemum cDNA belonging to the HSP70 family is reported. The cDNA, designated CgHSP70, encodes a 647-residue polypeptide, of estimated molecular mass 70.90 kDa and pI 5.12. A sub-cellular localization assay indicated that the cDNA product is deposited in the cytoplasm and nucleus. The performance of Arabidopsis thaliana plants constitutively expressing CgHSP70 demonstrated that the gene enhances t… Show more

“…There were two transgenic lines to exclude the effect of the insertion site on the characteristics of the offspring. Additionally, there was no significant difference between the empty vector lines and wild plants before or after the salt treatment as descried previously Shan et al 2012;Song et al 2014b).…”

“…The Plant Small RNA Target Analysis Server (psRNA Target: http://plantgrn.noble.org/psRNATarget) was used to identify the miRNA target genes in the PtrDof families with default parameters. FirstChoice RLM-RACE Kit (Invitrogen, Thermo Fisher Scientific) was used to perform RLM-RACE and illustrate the predicted targets following the methods researched by Song et al [33]. The gene-specific primers for RLM- RACE are presented in S2 Table.…”
