A Chern–Simons gauge-fixed Lagrangian in a ‘non-canonical’ BRST approach

Abstract: This paper presents a possible path which starts from the extended BRST Hamiltonian formalism and ends with a covariant Lagrangian action, using the equivalence between the two formalisms. The approach allows a simple account of the form of the master equation and offers a natural identification of some ‘non-canonical’ operators and variables.
