A chemical study of lupinus hispanicus seed—nutritional components

Abstract: A B S T R A C T Ecotypes of the native Spanish species Lupinus hispanicus were analysed for seed nutrient composition. Comparisons were made between the two subspecies (ssp hispanicus (Boiss et Reut) and ssp bicolor (Merino)). OtherLupinus species were also analysed. The seed protein content of Lupinus hispanicus is fairly high (420 g k g - '), and the tryptophan content is higher than that of other species
