Abstract: This study attempts a successful synthesis of a cellulose‐based adsorbent using orthophosphoric acid as a chemical activating agent followed by pyrolysis. A detailed characterization of synthesized adsorbent in terms of its morphology, material crystallinity, and surface area was studied.
