A Catalog of Agb Stars in Iras PSC

Abstract: We make a new catalog of AGB stars in our Galaxy from the sources listed in the Infrared Astronomical Satellite (IRAS) point source catalog (PSC) compiling the lists of previous works with verifying processes. We verify the class identification of AGB stars into oxygen-rich and carbon-rich stars using the information from recent investigations. For the large sample of AGB stars, we present infrared two-color diagrams from the observations at near infrared bands and IRAS PSC. On the two-color diagrams, we plot … Show more

“…Suh & Kwon (2011) presented a list of AGB stars for 3003 O-rich, 1168 C-rich, 362 S-type and 35 silicate carbon stars in our Galaxy which is a revised version of the catalog of AGB stars by Suh & Kwon (2009a). For the catalog, they compiled previous works with verifying processes from the sources listed in the IRAS PSC.…”

“…The carbon stars showing the 11.3-μm emission feature belong to IRASLRS class C. For C-rich AGB stars, Suh et al use the same catalogue of (Suh et al 2009) except that one reference is added and six objects are excluded in this work (Suh et al 2009). …”

“…Low intermediate mass star (1)(2)(3)(4)(5)(6)(7)(8) are very important contributors of material to the interstellar medium (ISM), and yet the mechanisms by which this matter is expelled remain a mystery. In this research work we discuss how mass distributed near AGB star, temperature profile, shock nature of AGB star near cavity like structure plays a role in studying the interaction between ISM and AGB star at given latitude.…”

“…Almost the entire sky was covered in four pass bands (12, 25, 60 and 100 micron). Although the IRAS mission took place two decades ago -the maps are still not exhausted of their riches which is one of the reason that motivated us to carry our study in IRAS map and discovered the cavity structure around pulsar (Beichman et al,1988 (Suh & Kwon, 2009). For the proper study of the isolated cavity like structure, its emission in 100 µm and 60 µm is essential.…”
