Abstract:Metronidazole is a widely used antimicrobial agent in the treatment of anaerobic and protozoal infections. However, excessive and prolonged use of metronidazole can lead to encephalopathy. We present a case of a 69-year-old male with bowel obstruction who was treated with metronidazole for approximately 26 days and subsequently developed neurological signs and symptoms.
