A Case Report of Maternal Diabetes and Fetal Caudal Regression Syndrome

Abstract

A 28 old years women patients with 16 weeks pregnant and tip 1 insulin dependent diabetes mellitus referred to our department for her routin control. On her obstetric ultranography a single, viable, appropriate with 16 weeks fetus was seen.The fetal spine was sudden cut at lumbosacral vertebrae level and low limbs were shorter. After termination of her pregnancy, the baby's pelvic anteroposterior and lateral X-Ray of the lower segment showed absence of all sacral and distal lumbar vertebrae, resulting in fusion of iliac bones in the midline.
