Abstract: Boerhaave syndrome is an esophagal perforation due to a rupture of the esophagus wall caused by intense vomiting with mediastinitis and subcutaneous emphysema. It is a relatively rare and potentially lifethreatening ailment that requires prompt diagnosis and treatment.
