A Case of Mycosis Fungoides after CD30 Positive Anaplastic Large Cell Lymphoma

Abstract: A 55-year-old woman presented with mycosis fungoides (MF) after the total excision of primary cutaneous CD30+ anaplastic large cell lymphoma (ALCL). In the specimens obtained from the nodule of CD30+ ALCL and the plaque lesion of MF, the same pattern of T-cell receptor gene rearragement was detected.

“…reported a case of MF coexisting with spontaneously regressing CD30 + tumours that showed a good prognosis and demonstrated clinical and histological overlap with cutaneous T‐cell lymphoma (CTCL). Lee et al 12 . reported a case of MF followed by CD30 + ALCL, supporting morphological, immunological, and molecular genetic similarities among cutaneous lymphoma ranging from LyP to MF and ALCL 1 .…”

“…Additionally, MF may transform into a CD30+ large cell lymphoma, thereby carrying a poor prognosis. In contrast, only a few reports in the literature document the coexistence of pcALCL and MF with varying gene rearrangement results …”
