Except for one case of this last type reported by Webb (1943), all listerial infections reported in Great Britain have been meningeal (Gibson, 1935;Wright and McGregor, 1939;Mair, Mair, Stirk, and Reid, 1957;Edmunds, Nicholson, and Douglas, 1957;Barrow and Pugh, 1958;Turner, Dawson, and Pryce-Jones, 1958; Moore and Whitmore, 1960).
