A Cadmium Anionic 1-D Coordination Polymer {[Cd(H2O)6][Cd2(atr)2(μ2-btc)2(H2O)4] 2H2O}n within a 3-D Supramolecular Charge-Assisted Hydrogen-Bonded and π-Stacking Network

Abstract: Abstract:The hydrothermal reaction of 4,4 1 -bis(1,2,4-triazol-4-yl) (btr) and benzene-1,3,5-tricarboxylic acid (H 3 btc) with Cd(OAc) 2¨2 H 2 O at 125˝C in situ forms 4-amino-1,2,4-triazole (atr) from btr, which crystallizes to a mixed-ligand, poly-anionic chain of [Cd 2 (atr) 2 (µ 2 -btc) 2

“…Although this Cd–O bond is weak, it is significantly shorter than the sum of the van der Waals radii. A similar situation was reported with several Cd complexes , , . The resulting coordination (7+1) can be approximately described as a distorted two‐capped octahedron.…”

“…It is worth noting that the O12 is carboxylate oxygen contained in one of the 2pyCOO − that uncoordinated with any metal ions. In this case, the O12 behaving as bifurcated hydrogen bonds acceptor (Figure 2 The stabilization of a title compound is supported by the supramolecular interactions defined as hydrogen bonds and π-π interactions [17,18]. The intermolecular and intramolecular hydrogen bonds are observed as all water molecules in compound 1 behaving as hydrogen bond donors to the nearest oxygen atoms.…”
