A broadband reflectarray antenna with double square rings

Abstract: Discussion of the Bistatic Scattering Coefficients Averaged over 30 Realizations Figure 7 shows the simulation of the bistatic-scattering coefficients averaged over 30 realizations through the UV method. The rms heights are 0.03, 0.06, and 0.09, respectively, and all of their correlation lengths are 1.03, the permittivity of the dielectric rough surface is 1 ϭ 10.8 Ϫ j1.6. The surface lengths are 8 ϫ 8 wavelengths and the incidence angle is 30°. The reflectivity of the dielectric rough surface is calculated th… Show more

“…The reflectarray achieves peak gain 27.9 dBi at 45 GHz. The 1-dB gain bandwidth of the proposed reflectarray is about 39.78%, from 39.5 to 57.4 GHz, which is broader than the one of those reflectarrays in [4]- [8].…”

“…Multiple resonance structures are widely used in reflectarray to achieve a linear phase response and improve the bandwidth of antenna [6] [7]. So another concentric ring slot is added to constitute double split rings slot element, as shown in Fig.1.…”

“…As shown in this figure, increasing the thickness of the substrate reduced the slope of the phase plots, which led to wideband operation of the reflectarray. More than 500' of phase variation could be achieved by using thick substrates [39, 40].…”
