“…To better understand the difference between classical molecular genetics and the present biosemiotic view, Lacková (2018) showed the difference between code based on a dictionary-like structure and that based on an encyclopaedia-like structure. In the first case, each gene corresponds to a function or a set of functions, and thus the size of the code is limited to the number of genes.…”

“…What enables the encyclopaedia‐type code to function, in semiotic terms, is the interpretant that represents the changes in the cell's molecular rules (habits) as a response to intracellular or external environmental changes. As Lacková (2018) wrote: ‘Genes are not static and unchangeable scripts, but can always be reinterpreted by new interpretants that illuminate them from different points of view, depending on which properties are relevant in a particular context’. The figure of the interpretant agrees with recent discoveries in molecular biology, including the many ways mRNA can be edited, the chromatin modification pathways, the communication through webs comprising different microRNAs, the activity of endogenous retro‐virus and retro‐elements, and so forth (Villarreal & Witzany, 2013a).…”

“…They are 15 Cf. other claims on multiplicity of codes (Ilyin, Fomin, Khlebnikov 2020;Zolyan, Zhdanov 2018;Zolyan 2020;Lacková 2018;Faltýnek, Zámečník, Lacková 2017;Faltýnek, Lacková, Matlach 2017 etc. ) 16 The planar orbital description of benzene hexagonal molecule implies three delocalized covalent bonds (each covalent bond entangles one atom to overlap two lobes of an orbital on another atom crosswise) with all six carbon atoms concurrently resonating delocalized electrons.…”

“…Vzájomné inšpirácie semiotiky a genetiky sa v súčasnosti výrazne rozvíjajú v interdisciplinárnej biosemiotike (Lacková, 2018), vďaka ktorej sa tieto poznatky z prírodných vied postupne dostávajú aj do humanitných odborov. aj metaforická ruka učí uchopovať konkrétne objekty.…”
