A biomimetic fluorescent nanosensor based on imprinted polymers modified with carbon dots for sensitive detection of alpha-fetoprotein in clinical samples

Abstract: A biomimetic fluorescent nanosensor based on molecularly imprinted polymers modified with carbon dots (CDs@MIPs) has been prepared for rapid, selective and sensitive detection of alpha-fetoprotein (AFP) in clinical samples.

“…The K sv values were estimated to be 0.515 and 0.084 μM −1 for the OM-MIP and OM-NIP NCs, respectively, and hence the IF SV for the OM-NIP NPs was calculated to be 6.13. The limit of detection (LOD) for the OM-MIP NCs were determined to be 38.1 nM, according to 3 σ / s , 52–57 where σ means the standard deviation of the blank measurements ( n = 11) and s the slope of calibration curve ( s = K sv ). For comparison, the FL spectra of the OM-MIP and OM-NIP NCs without PEGylation were also measured (Fig.…”

“…Moreover, the responsive DNA hydrogel SERS biosensing platform was compared with other methods of AFP detection (Table ). In terms of detection limit, this SERS platform covered the range of AFP concentration in serum from healthy adults to patients with advanced liver cancer (25 ng/mL to 500 ng/mL). Compared with other detection methods, it has the advantages of wider linear range, lower cost, and good reproducibility.…”

“…2019 described that for the detection of alpha‐fetoprotein (AFP) a biomimetic fluorescent nanosensor based on molecularly imprinted polymers modified with CDs (CDs@MIPs) can be used. Moreover, for the rapid, selective, and sensitive detection of tumor markers, CDs@MIPs were turned out to be a success to detect AFP in human serum samples [107] . Nano light CDs were synthesized with high fluorescence properties, and used for labeling antibodies via amine‐amine conjugations.…”
