A bimetallic cyano-bridged complex based on nickel(II) and pentacyanidonitrosylferrate(II) precursors: characterization, crystal structure, and magnetic properties

Abstract: A heterobimetallic cyano-bridged 1D coordination polymer of the composition [Ni(baepn)(l-NC)Fe(CN) 3 -(NO)(l-CN)] n Á3H 2 O has been synthesized by the reaction of nickel(II) nitrate hexahydrate, baepn (baepn = N, N 0 -bis(2-aminoethyl)-1,3-propanediamine), and sodium nitroprusside dihydrate in a methanol-water mixture. The complex was characterized by physicochemical and spectroscopic methods. The crystal structure was established by singlecrystal X-ray diffraction analysis. It reveals cyano-bridged heteromet… Show more

“…(MacGillivray & Lukehart, 2014;Kaskel, 2016). Nickel(II) complexes of the 14-membered macrocyclic tetraamine ligands, in particular of cyclam and its C-alkylated derivatives (cyclam = 1,4,8,11-tetraazacyclotetradecane, C 10 H 24 N 4 ), are widely used as metal-containing building units for the construction of MOFs (Lampeka & Tsymbal, 2004;Suh & Moon, 2007;Suh et al, 2012;Stackhouse & Ma, 2018;Lee & Moon, 2018) (Escuer et al, 1993), cyanide (Koo et al, 2003), and cyanometalate (Koo et al, 2003;Shek et al, 2005;Talukder et al, 2012;Ni et al, 2014) bridging anions have been characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction.…”
