Bibliometric analysis is a relatively new tool in healthcare and therefore does not yet make full use of its potential. This statistical tool analyses scientific publications which further describe trends in academic literature and research in various fields. This study focused on the development of diabetes research using animal models induced by streptozotocin (STZ), a diabetogenic molecule that triggers DNA damage in pancreatic beta cells and causes extreme oxidative stress. 1090 related articles published between 2017-2022 were obtained from the Scopus-Elsevier database using specific keywords “streptozotocin or STZ, animal models, diabetes, intraperitoneal”. Statistical analysis showed 1.67% Annual Growth Rate of publication with 10.66 citation rate per document. Co-occurrence analysis also successfully visualized the main topics related to the mechanism of action of streptozotocin such as oxidative stress, inflammation, rats, diabetic nephropathy, diabetic cardiomyopathy, hyperglycemia, antioxidants, and insulin. An important finding in this study indicated the diabetes research development was not in line with the main problem using animal models that remain unsolved, especially in diabetes research related to pancreatic beta cell proliferation. The result also provided valuable insights of research trends that involved diabetic animal models. The latest research datas are significantly important since it can be used for future research development. Further, more comprehensive information could be achieved by using other databases such as Web of Science (WOS) and Dimension in bibliometric analysis.

Recruitment Strategies in Private Higher Education Institutions in England This qualitative research study explores recruitment strategies employed by Private Higher Education Institutions (PrHEIs) in England. The study aims to gain insights into the various recruitment practices and challenges faced by PrHEIs in attracting and selecting suitable candidates for academic and administrative positions. The research methodology involves semi-structured interviews with 12 key stakeholders, including HR managers and academic leaders, from a diverse range of PrHEIs. Through thematic analysis, the study identifies common themes and patterns in recruitment strategies, including advertising channels, selection criteria, and the use of technology in the recruitment process. Additionally, the research highlights the importance of aligning recruitment practices with the unique characteristics and goals of PrHEIs to attract qualified candidates and enhance organisational effectiveness. The findings contribute to the existing literature on recruitment in higher education and provide practical insights for PrHEIs to optimise their recruitment strategies and practices. The results of the functioning of the federal system for assessing the quality of the activities of the leading universities of the Russian Federation for the period from 2020 to the present with changes in domestic legislation, as well as world experience in assessing the activities of educational organizations, based on the competence approach, are considered. The author’s Methodology is presented, in which competence is considered as an educational goal, which is achieved through the joint educational activities of participants in educational relations - a teacher and a student in the framework of the implementation of a professional educational program engineering (including biotechnology and bioengineering). It is based on the method of decomposition of competence into keys-descriptors, which are compared with the results of training, the topics of work programs of disciplines (modules) and practices, tasks of assessment materials. The theoretical basis of the developed Methodology is the taxonomy of B. Boom, as well as authoritative Russian scientists. Practical approbation of the work was carried out in 2022-2023 at seminars, forums at DSTU and other leading universities of the Rostov region and Russia, as well as structural divisions of the Ministry of Education and Science and Rosobrnadzor. The introduction of the Methodology into the practice of universities will improve the existing (or re-create) mechanism for assessing the quality of educational activities and successfully fulfill accreditation indicators during the expert procedure of the two branches of DSTU. The article is useful for employees, managers and scientific and pedagogical workers of educational organizations, expert organizations that provide methodological, information and analytical support for external quality assessment, licensing of educational activities, as well as other responsible persons - experts involved in its implementation.
