The theme of green human resource management (GHRM) has got immense attention among researchers and professionals due to its potential to pacify environmental needs and simultaneously allowing firms to have win-win situation, hence achieving sustainable competitive edge over their rivals. In this context, a systematic review of 70 articles from the past 12 years (2008-2020) on green human resource management was conducted based on Scopus database in terms of (1) the reflections of green HRM, (2) execution of green HRM, (3) factors of green HRM, (4), Effects of green HRM. Results demonstrated that Green HRM is still in developing phase and a multidimensional paradigm with green training as an important element along with teamwork, management support, green organizational culture are the pioneer factors in ensuring sustainable development both at firm and individual level. Finally, this paper highlights the past, current and future endeavors in green HRM paradigm, sustainable development and serves as a guide for researchers who are new to this novel concept; it will also intensity their understanding about the productive journals, appropriate methodology, underpinning theories, sustainable development and substantial knowledge gaps.

Strategy for a firm is a long‐term plan that persists. The enduring viability of these strategies depends on the ecological and environmental aspects of the firm, termed as sustainability. To address this concept, sustainable strategic management (SSM) has been introduced in the management domain. Over the last 30 years of the introduction of SSM, very few studies have systematically reviewed the researches in this purview. Therefore, this study examines the extant structure and future scope of the research on SSM through an inclusive bibliometric analysis of 221 articles. The database of Scopus and Web of Science is used in this study to sample these documents. The crucial contributors of the comprehensive literature are identified through the analysis of bibliographic coupling, citation analysis, co‐authorship analysis, co‐word analysis, co‐citation analysis and country publications, affiliations and collaboration map. The co‐citation analysis classifies the key thematic research interests into cluster of four, based on the co‐cited documents. However, the co‐word analysis identifies the co‐occurrence of keywords in the sampled documents. The country publications, affiliations and collaboration map indexes UK and USA as the top most country on number of articles and collaboration pattern and Europe and Asia as the prime continent on dominating the studies on SSM. The study provides insights on the current studies on SSM, which can be useful for researchers.

In Europe, micro‐firms contribute significantly to both the economy and the environmental impact on ecosystems. Helping them become greener and stimulating innovation toward new sustainable and circular solutions could substantially contribute to the European goal of achieving carbon neutrality and environmental sustainability, as promoted by the European Green Deal and Next Generation EU programs. Nevertheless, eco‐innovation (EI) by micro‐firms is studied little in the literature. In this paper, we analyze the main determinants of conventional and EI adoption by micro‐firms. We used an ad‐hoc survey developed for enterprises in Emilia‐Romagna (Italy), an important region in terms of innovation where micro‐firms play a significant role in the economy. The paper analyzes whether human capital, training, R&D activities, collaboration activities to improve learning, and the environmental culture within the firm act as main determinants of innovation adoption, in addition to other standard drivers and barriers to innovation adoption studied in the extant literature. Moreover, we compare innovation adoption strategies between micro‐firms and SMEs. While our results highlight differences in the determinants of EI and conventional innovation adoption, there are important heterogeneities when it comes to innovation adoption strategies.
