A Bibliometric Analysis of Deep Web Research during 1997 to 2019

Abstract: This study provides a bibliometric account of global deep web research published from 1997 to 2019. A total of 1995 records were imported from the Scopus database in a bibtex file. The bibliometrix package in RStudio was used for analyses. Publication Growth, Citations, Authorship, Country and Affiliations has been analysed. It was found that deep web research had a slow growth rate. In the last four years it has seen a recovery in the growth rate. Furthermore, this study shows the distribution of highly cited… Show more

“…Bibliometric is a quantitative analysis methodology to assess a study from several indicators such as year, scope, keywords, and others. In addition, the analysis was carried out using several related data publications, as suggested by bibliometric experts for many years [12]. Meanwhile, the literature review was carried out using the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic reviews and Meta-Analysis (PRISMA) [13].…”

“…This systematic approach involves evaluating research publications within a selected database over a defined period to assess their impact on existing knowledge (Mantry et al, 2023;Singh, Sibi, & Sharma, 2021;Singh, Sibi, Yost, et al, 2021). Researchers utilize bibliometrics to gain insights into the scope of a subject, the evolution of research in central and peripheral areas, research collaborations, and the identification of patterns and emerging trends (Rai et al, 2020). By delineating the body of research and quantitatively analyzing publication and citation counts, bibliometrics facilitates the quantitative analysis and description of literature across various academic fields (Zhang et al, 2021).…”

“…Some of the publications relating to biomethane were published using a bibliometric analysis of biomass, thus, several research teams have been studying how to improve biogas for biomethane processing. A study of the 100 to cited papers in the field of biogas was carried out using the Web of Science database, with the majority of documents released between 2006 and 2011 [26].…”

“…The biomethane field is receiving a rising number of papers and scientific interest, necessitating the development of a quantitative method to examine scientific output and study trends in this field. The bibliometric analysis is a quantitative analysis to assess the amount of research work in a topic [26][27][28].…”
