A bibliometric analysis of apoptosis in glaucoma

Abstract: BackgroundGlaucoma is the first irreversible and second blindness disease, which is characterized by the death of retinal ganglion cells (RGCs) and degeneration of the optic nerve. Previous works have indicated that apoptosis is the main reason for RGC death in glaucoma. Although many studies have investigated the mechanism of apoptosis and different strategies targeting apoptosis to protect the RGCs and finally recover the impaired vision in the glaucoma. However, the global trend and hotspots of apoptosis in… Show more

“…The size and color of the nodes represent the magnitude of their citation counts and their respective clusters, respectively. 23 The links between nodes and their thickness indicate the co-citation relationships and the strength of those relationships, respectively. 24 By combining the detailed data listed in Table 4 , it can be inferred that Ruetten S (1099) from Saint Anna Hospital in Germany is the most highly cited author, followed by Ahn Y (943) and Kambin P (700).…”

“…Bibliometrics, as a research method that can conduct quantitative analysis and visualization of large-scale literature data, can reveal the development trends and evolution rules of specific research fields. [10][11][12] By adopting bibliometric visualization technology, a comprehensive and in-depth analysis of the literature related to lumbar IVD biomechanics can be conducted, which can not only contribute to a deeper understanding of the research history, current status, and future development trends in this field, but also reveal the weak areas and directions of research, providing new insights and guidance for further research. However, to the best of our knowledge, there is currently no bibliometric report on the study of lumbar IVD biomechanics.…”
