La anorexia es tomada por el sujeto como una estrategia radi-Abstract This paper intends to elucidate anorexia in the hysterical structure, emphasizing on the particular relationship that the subject establishes with the Other and desire in the creation of that symptom. Anorexia is taken by the subject as a radical strategy of separation from the Other, a way of high costs for the subject, and it is worth mentioning that many times it is paid with their own life. Such posture of the anorexic points, in that way, towards the paradoxical radicality of their attachment to the Other's desire. É fato que nem Freud, nem Lacan, se dedicaram exclusivamente ao estudo da anorexia, mas nem por isso eles se abstiveram de dar suas contribuições sobre o assunto, nos deixando valiosas indicações para o desenvolvimento de um trabalho psicanalítico com a anorexia.
