A 6D standing wave Braneworld

Abstract: We constructed a six-dimensional version of the standing wave model with an anisotropic 4-brane generated by a phantom-like scalar field. The model represents a braneworld where the compact (on-brane) dimension is assumed to be sufficiently small in order to describe our universe (hybrid compactification). The proposed geometry of the brane and its transverse manifold is non-static, unlike the majority of braneworld models presented in the literature. Furthermore, we have shown that the zero-mode scalar field … Show more

“…Then we explicitly show that this model provides universal gravitational trapping of zero modes of all kinds of matter fields in the case of rapid oscillations of bulk standing waves. It must be mentioned that analogous physical setup was considered in recent paper [24], which differs from our model in metric ansatz.…”

“…where curvature scale a = 0 and R 0 > 0 are constants, and the function u (t, r) depends only on time t and on extra radial polar coordinate r. Then u(t, r) = 0 this metric ansatz coincides with the known solution [11], that describes the model with a 3-brane at the origin r = 0 which is a 4D local string-like topological defect in the 6D spacetime. We also mention that the metric ansatz (4) differs from that recently proposed in the article [24], our metric symmetrically considers x, y and z coordinates.…”

“…Advantage of our 6D ansatz (5) is that it looks symmetric in the brane coordinates x, y and z, while in 5D model [5] the brane 3-plain is non-symmetrically warped. Also ( 5) is simpler than the metric of the models [7], since it contains only one singular point, r = 0, where the brane is placed to smooth the singularity.…”

“…Most of the braneworlds are realized as time-independent field configurations. However, there have appeared several braneworld models that assumed time-dependent metrics and fields [4,5,7].…”
