A 12-week Double-blind Randomized Clinical Trial Of Vitamin D3 Supplementation On Body Fat Mass In Healthy Overweight And Obese Women

Abstract: The dietary intake of patients with nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) is generally characterized by high levels of carbohydrate, fat, and/or cholesterol, and these dietary patterns influence hepatic lipid metabolism in the patients. Therefore, careful investigation of dietary habits could lead to better nutrition therapy in NAFLD patients. The main treatment for chronic hepatitis C (CHC) is interferon-based antiviral therapy, which often causes a decrease in appetite and energy intake; hence, nutritiona… Show more

“…These scenarios promotes the steatotic liver to steatohepatitis and fibrosis (Buzzetti, Pinzani, & Tsochatzis, ). The NASH is associated with the protein malnutrition which affect the overall function of liver, reduced body weight, and poor regeneration capacity of liver whereas protein‐enriched and low carbohydrate diets are effective in treating the NASH and the effective nutritional therapy for NASH and steatohepatitis is avoiding the excessive dietary energy intake (Kargulewicz, Stankowiak‐Kulpa, & Grzymisałwski, ; Yasutake et al, ).…”

“…Também foi observado que a ingestão de colesterol dietético foi significativamente maior em indivíduos com DHGNA do que em indivíduos saudáveis. A ingestão exagerada de colesterol acarreta em aumento da síntese de oxycolesterol que são ligantes agonistas do receptor hepático LXRα que estimula a síntese de ácidos graxos (YASUTAKE et al 2012;YAMAZAKI et al, 2007).…”

“…Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) is associated with cardiovascular disease and type 2 diabetes mellitus ( 1 ) ; diet has been suggested to play a role in the development of NAFLD ( 2 ) . Whilst overfeeding excess calories as fat and/or free sugars increases liver fat content, the influence of specific macronutrients, in the context of a eucaloric diet, is unclear ( 3 ) .…”
