Abstract: Nonylphenol (NP) is a xenoestrogen whose estrogenic effects are mediated by the estrogen receptor (ER) in vertebrates. However, the ER appears to be absent in arthropods. Estrogen-related receptor (ERR) may be a candidate that responds to NP.
