Abstract: The signatures of the onset of deconfinement, found by the NA49 experiment at low SPS energies, are confronted with new results from the Beam Energy Scan (BES) program at BNL RHIC and CERN LHC results. Additionally, new NA49 results on chemical (particle ratio) fluctuations, azimuthal angle fluctuations, intermittency of di-pions, etc. are presented.

“…The first preliminary NA61 results from p + p interactions [61,63] Other fluctuation measures were studied both by SPS and RHIC experiments, but the general conclusion is that the energy dependence of fluctuations for heavy-ion collisions (Pb + Pb/Au + Au) does not show any effects that can be attributed to CP. NA49 and NA61 did not find any possible signatures of CP when studying the energy dependence (Pb + Pb and also p + p collisions) of chemical (particle type) fluctuations [51,53,64,65]. Also, electric charge [66] and azimuthal angle [64] fluctuations in central Pb+Pb data did not show any unexpected behaviour.…”

Also, electric charge [66] and azimuthal angle [64] fluctuations in central Pb+Pb data did not show any unexpected behaviour. The RHIC BES studied: netcharge and net-proton fluctuations [67], p T correlations, particle ratio (chemical) fluctuations [68], but again, within the uncertainties, no clear non-monotonic behaviour, and thus no clear evidence of CP in the energy scan of Au + Au collisions was observed.…”
