Abstract:Rhabdomyolysis and myoglobinuria are a rare complication of dermatomyositis. Rhabdomyolysis has a wide range of presentations, from asymptomatic to life-threatening. The most dramatic presentation can result in acute renal failure, electrolyte imbalances, and/or disseminated intravascular coagulation (DIC).
