“…In the middle of the twentieth century, concerns began to mount over problems caused by ecological degradation, and ecological security has become a common interest for many countries and organizations [1]. Ecological security, a concept first proposed by the United States government [2], has been linked with national security, economic security, and human well-being [3]. In addition, urban ecological security, a spatial concept, is the possibility of variation trends, guaranteed by a complex system of humans and the environment within an urban region, which prevents potential risks to the human ecological security space caused by natural and human activities or a combination thereof.…”

“…AHP is trying to find a solution that best suits the needs of the decision makers according to their understanding and attitude to the problem. Normally, the AHP includes five steps [12]: (1) decomposing the decision problem into a hierarchy of simpler sub-problems, usually a hierarchy of evaluation indices is established; (2) Building pair-wise comparison matrix in different levels to judge the importance of the elements by paired comparison using the scale method [1, 9]; (3) Determining the relative weight of one element to another through calculating the priority vector and maximum eigenvalue of the comparison matrix; (4) Examination the consistency of the pair-wise comparison matrix in different levels by calculating the consistency index ( CI ) for each level of the hierarchy structures; (5) Calculation the relative weight of the each element to the whole target and examination the consistency of the whole hierarchical matrix. Herein, the process of the weight determining has been programmed using Matlab Soft (Version 7.0).…”

“…For positive indices, data standardization is carried out according to formula (1), while it is carried out according to formula (2) for the negative indices. Through the standardization process, the standardized values are in the range of 0[1]. As the topmost index is 'Ecological Unsafety Index'.…”

“…Eco-security is defined as the "ecologically sustainable development that meets the environmental and ecological needs of the present generation without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own environmental and ecological needs" [1,2], which was first introduced by the Insurance Accounting and Systems Association (IASA) in the global eco-security monitoring system of 1989 [3]. Land is a scarce resource at a global scale, and the space carrier of human activities, so it is fundamental in all human existence and development [4][5][6].…”
