“…Carbon is a special catalyst support material with relatively inert property, so that undesired side reactions catalyzed by the support surface hardly occur. Various carbon materials supported vanadium-free catalysts, including CeO2/ACF(activated carbon fiber), 78,79 Fe2O3, Co2O3 or Mn2O3/ACF, 80 MnOx/CNT (carbon nanotube), [81][82][83] CuO/CNT, 84 MnOx-CeO2/CNT, [85][86][87][88] Fe2O3, Cr2O3 or CuO/AC (active carbons), 89,90 Cu or Mn/active carbon honeycomb, 91 and MnOx-CeO2/ active carbon honeycomb, 34 have been studied for lowtemperature SCR reaction. These catalysts exhibited relatively high SCR activities at low temperatures, but the inadequate SO2 tolerance is a fatal problem for their industrial application.…”

“…It was found that the best additives were Cu, V and Fe, mainly in their binary mixtures, for which a synergetic effect was evidenced. In particular, copper has been reported to be a good catalyst for the adsorption of SO 2 at low temperatures, and very low adsorption capacities have been reported in the absence of copper. Tseng et al found that the catalytic reaction between SO 2 and supported copper species was affected by the surface functional groups that are generated during the synthesis of metal-loaded activated carbon supports.…”
