Abstract

Karawang 1 State Vocational High School as one of the leading schools in Karawang district, West Java is very concerned about and supports government programs on strengthening character education in schools. However, the ideal goal of vocational education is currently still far from reality, the reality currently depicted in SMK Negeri 1 Karawang is that there is still a lack of exemplary character from teachers to students, low understanding of teachers about character education, as well as a lack of training and guidance for teachers to understand. the importance of character education. This encourages proposals to combine ideas and ideas in solving these problems in seminars and training for vocational high school (SMK) teachers in strengthening character education at SMK Negeri 1 Karawang. The method used in this community service is seminars and mentoring for target teachers. The results of this Community Service can be concluded that this coaching is quite successful where the training participants are very enthusiastic in training activities, this can be seen from the percentage of target teacher attendance which reaches 100%. In addition, the results of the mentoring show that each teacher has developed their understanding and knowledge related to character education in schools. This can be seen from the results of a questionnaire from teachers who have implemented character education in various activities in schools, both intracurricular and extracurricular.
